Rare 1926 S Buffalo Nickel Brings Record Price
October 7, 2019
Legend Rare Coin Auctions hosted their Regency Auction 34 in Las Vegas at the most recent PCGS Members Only Show. Among the highlights of this specialty sale was a 1926 S Buffalo Nickel, the finest graded at PCGS as MS65+, and with the CAC approval. This coin has a great strike and many believe it could be in a 66 holder; it brought well over the pre-sale estimate of $220,000, selling for $246,750.

An exceptional 1916 Standing Liberty Quarter in PCGS MS67 FH, just 1 of 8 coins certified in this grade at both services, realized $141,000. There is only one coin certified in a higher grade of MS67+ FH. The current Market value is listed at $110,000 which will be updated.

A rather spectacular 1939 D Mercury Dime in MS69 FB with the CAC sticker brought $42,300; an extremely high premium, although several bidders felt comfortable with the final price. This is the only MS69 in the entire series that also has the CAC approval. Of course the original vibrant mix of colors helps add to the appeal of this magnificent coin. Some other highlights from the Legend Regency 34 Sale are listed below.
