There are numerous increases in this week's HD Wholesale Market Dealer Price Guide for rare material but the more common coins, which are readily available, are still declining. An example of rarity is the 1811/10 Bust Half Dollar; the MS65 and MS66 are higher at $19,500 and $23,750, respectively. There is only one coin certified by PCGS in MS66. Another high grade rarity, the 1842 O Medium Date, Rev 1842 in MS65, is now up to $15,250 Market with just one certified. NGC shows another coin in MS66.
Not all rarities are bringing premiums. The 1795 Draped Bust Dollar Small Eagle in MS65 has dropped slightly to $300,000 Market, but there are still competitive buyers near this level. There are nine coins certified in MS65 with a few grading higher, one is an MS67.
High grade Seated Dollars are very tough to find in MS65 and higher; when they have great eye appeal, they will command a nice premium. The 1870 in MS66 jumped to $78,250 over the last few weeks. There are two certified in this grade.
