Gold and Silver Top Recent Highs

Trading on the dealer teletype systems continues to be dominated by Gold, Silver, and Platinum related coins. However, that does not mean numismatic coins are being ignored. There are buyers for just about anything dated prior to the 1930's if the price fits the quality. For some series slight discounts are required, but that is not the case for Morgan and Peace Dollars. Dealers are in hot pursuit for all grades and especially MS63 through MS66. MS63 and MS64 Morgan Dollars are higher again this week at $56 and $76, respectively.

Only minor changes are noted in this week's Moderns wholesale Market Dealer Price Guide for Lincoln Cents through Presidential Dollars. Although, you will find a variety of increases for the low grade silver coins due to the substantial increase in Silver over the last month. Silver jumped over the $36 mark and all bullion related coins are in demand. Silver Eagles are now up to a minimum of $39 Market for MS69 certified coins. PR69 Silver Eagles are at least $55 each wholesale.

With Gold topping just above $1,440 last week, most all the Modern Gold coins have advanced this week. Demand is quite strong and many dealers are reporting consistent sales throughout the week. One-ounce Proof Gold Eagles in the original government packaging are trading at $1,635 among dealers. The 2009 UHR is trading at higher levels as of late. The MS69 is now at $2,250 and it looks like there are new buyers at even higher levels. This means that the Prooflike and Early Release coins are also in strong demand.
